In addition to the extensive collection of trees, shrubs and perennials the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden has a large collection of spring bulbs, summer tropicals and bamboo. The Garden boasts an impressive color display in spring with 80,000 blooming tulips along with thousands of minor spring bulbs, daffodils and flowering trees and shrubs. During the summer months tropical plants are placed throughout the
landscape adding a lush tropical feel throughout the Garden. Hardy bamboos are planted in exhibits recreating the tropical bamboo forests of
Asia and Africa and the temperate bamboo forests of China.
