April 1 - Wussy

woxy1 Wussy is a four-piece rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio fronted by songwriters Chuck Cleaver and Lisa Walker. They have raked in accolades from Rolling Stone, Spin, Mojo, and NPR’s Fresh Air. Wussy, the album, is the biggest seller in the history of Shake It, the independent label run out of the Northside record store. They are currently working on a fourth release.

      

 

 

 

April 1 - Pomegranates

PomegranatesPomegranates are a local Cincinnati band that broke on the music scene in 2008 with the release of their critically-acclaimed full length album Everything Is Alive.  The bands quirky and charming blend of pop rock gained them immediate attention and support from music lovers and placed them in the category of "bands to keep an eye on".  In 2009 they released their second album Everybody, Come Outside!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

April 8 - Comet Bluegrass All Stars

The Comet Bluegrass All-Stars (CBAS) were assembled in 1996 as the Sunday night house band at The Comet, a neighborhood pub in Northside, Cincinnati. Since that time the popularity of the band has grown beyond the lounge at The Comet, opening for such national acts as Sam Bush, Blue Highway, Del McCoury and Ricky Skaggs.

 

 

 

April 8 - Rumpke Mountain Boys

The Rumpke Mountain Boys have spent almost a decade developing their very unique style of Jamgrass. Their live shows draw from an evergrowing list of originals mixed with songs from nearly every genre of music. Using bluegrass instruments the Rumpkes intertwine over a century of music, from traditional mountain music to Tom Waits, Jimmy Cliff, John Hartford, The Grateful Dead and everything in between.

 

April 15 - The Newbees

The NewbeesThe Newbees from Cincinnati, Ohio began their song writing partnership in May 2004.They developed an immediate connection through their love of harmony, upbeat melodies and shared retro influences.  Since their debut, The Newbees have played regularly at venues and festivals including, The Motor City Music Conference, Taste of Cincinnati and the Midpoint Music Festival.

 

 

April 15 - The Seedy Seeds

With a completely original sound and presentation, including banjo, accordion and toy keyboard beats, The Seedy Seeds create upbeat, melodic, danceable indie music that is equally at home alongside pop-punk, alt-country, and lo-fi.

April 22 - Faux Frenchmen

The Faux Frenchmen are acoustic guitarists Brian Lovely and George Cunningham, acoustic bassist Don Aren, and violinist Paul Patterson. They’ve played Hot Club-driven 1930’s gypsy jazz in and around Cincinnati and the Eastern and Midwestern U.S. since 2002.  They have received three Cincinnati Entertainment Award nominations in the "Best Jazz" category.

 

 

 

April 22 - Psychodots

The Psychodots are Cincinnati, Ohio's premier power pop trio, consisting of guitarist Rob Fetters, bassist Bob Nyswonger, and drummer/multi-instrumentalist Chris Arduser. Born out of Cincinnati's beloved Raisins and the world-travelling Bears, Psychodots combine witty, heartfelt song writing with highly skilled musicianship and electric live performances.

 

April 29 - Jake Speed & the Freddies

For the past eight years, Jake Speed has hitchhiked down Cincinnati's American folk, bluegrass, and ragtime music highway with his award-winning band, The Freddies. Their traditional and original songs leap right out of Depression-era freight trains and right into Ohio River steamboats. Their near-vaudeville style stage shows and quick-witted charisma rope in loyal fans of new and old generations alike.

 

 

April 29 - The Turkeys

The Turkeys

The Turkeys are a Folk-Rock band from Covington, KY featuring Simon & Garfunkelesque harmonies. Expect hints of Country, humorous Indie Rock and much more.
