New! Standards Based Program for Schools

Embark on an exciting adventure through the Zoo by completing missions and investigating the living environment through inquiry. Your group will start their day at the Zoo with a laugh-out-loud presentation in the Harold C. Schott Education Center, which will set the stage for your adventure. Then, with Adventure Pass in hand, groups of students will meet up with educators, zoo keepers, animal handlers stationed throughout the Zoo. Age-appropriate, standards based topics available for all ages.

Who can participate?

  • Specific programs available for grand bands K-12.

When is the Adventure Pass Program available?

  • Monday-Friday, September-May starting at 9:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., or 10:30 a.m.
  • Make your reservations at least two weeks in advance.

How much is the Adventure Pass Program?

  • No extra charge with Zoo Admission
  • School Group Admission: $5.00/student. One adult chaperone per 10 students free; all other adults $5.00 each; bus parking free; private vehicle parking $6.50 each

Where does the Adventure Pass Program take place?

  • The Adventure Pass Program happens throughout the Zoo. You will start the program with an introductory presentation In the Harold C. Schott Education Center at 9:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., or 10:30 a.m.

STAYING ALIVE ADVENTURE PASS

K-2

Grades K-2 students embark on an activities-based adventure to explore special features of plants and animals that help them live in different kinds of places. Students will explore how physical and behavioral adaptations help plants and animals meet their basic needs.

SURVIVAL SPIES ADVENTURE PASS

3-5

Grades 3-5 students embark on an activities-based adventure to discover how plant and animal interactions affect their survival

ULTIMATE SURVIVAL ADVENTURE PASS 6-8 Grades 6-8 students embark on an activities-based adventure to investigate how plants and animals interact with each other and their physical environments to survive.
SAVING WILDLIFE ADVENTURE PASS 9-12 Grades 9-12 students embark on an activities-based adventure to discover and assess the ways people take action to save wildlife.
